Pesticides, such as organophosphates, carbamates, organochlorine, pyrethroid, are chemical compounds used for the mitigation, control, or destruction of bugs or insects. Pesticides can enter the food chain and have significant health effects when consumed. Many countries have established maximum residue levels for pesticide residues on foodstuffs; therefore, testing of food products for pesticides is required to establish safety and compliance.
