Thermo Scientific* ARL 9900 X-Ray WorkStation combines the power of two technologies into a single instrument.
Product Detail
The new Thermo Scientific ARL 9900 X-ray WorkStation offers the versatility of two X-ray techniques, X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) and Full X-ray Diffraction (XRD), combined in one instrument.
X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis determines the elemental composition of a sample, and X-ray Diffraction (XRD) provides mineralogical information about how the various elements are combined together. Combining the results of both XRF and XRD techniques allows for a better, more complete characterization of any given crystalline sample.
Can take the place of two separate instruments
Permits rapid and very precise analysis of solid samples
The ARL 9900 X-ray WorkStation* can detect the presence of up to 83 elements (from Boron to Uranium) in concentrations ranging from parts per million to 100%
With IntelliPower, choose the right power according to application demands: 1200W, 2500W, 3600W or 4200W
Advanced integrated software reports the results as soon as the analysis is performed
Only one sample introduction, fast, simple and highly reliable
Easily upgraded to handle evolving analytical requirements
Integration of XRF and XRD yields several advantages:
Single interface with the user for both techniques
Elemental and phase results merged into a single analysis bulletin
Minimizes occupied floor space
X-ray System
Optical system design allows precise measurement, high sensitivity and stable analysis
X-ray tube mounted above sample, preventing damage by defective samples, e.g. fragile pellets
Fixed Monochromators
Compact slit-crystal geometry detects elements at very low concentrations
Ensures faster response through simultaneous analysis of specific elements
XRF Goniometers
Programmable for quantitative analysis of specific elements or qualitative analysis of elements present in sample
High-quality sequential X-ray spectrometry afforded by use of Moire fringe technology
Full capability for analysis of nonroutine elements
Automation
Fast, simple and highly reliable sample introduction system available with variable degrees of automation to free staff for other work
Can be linked to automatic sample preparation instruments for online process control
Ideal for:
Metals: iron, steel, aluminum, copper and alloys; Titanium, magnesium, slags and sinters
